Here are some of our Life Skills Lessons…
GREAT ATTITUDE
As
you know, success in life is determined by attitude more than
anything else. Others, such as intelligence and environment, can
certainly help, but nothing is more important than attitude. We
work with the students to help develop the requisite attitude for a
great life.
Poor Attitude =Poor Results Good Attitude=Good Results Great
Attitude=Great Results
We
condition students that for every “I/You can’t do that” they must
reply instantly with “I can, I must, I will!!!
GOOD MANNERS
We
all know the value of having good manners. Rarely, however, are
manners taught in a specific format. We teach the basics of being
polite and showing courtesy and respect. With good manners, great
first impressions are made, doors are opened and favors are given.
As the old phrase goes, “You can catch more flies with honey than
with vinegar.”
GOOD SELF CONTROL
& USING OUR PHYSICAL SKILLS OF THE MARTIAL ARTS FOR SELF-DEFENSE
ONLY
We all know that kids are going to
occasionally lose their tempers and do something illogical. It is
part of the maturing process. However, we also know that the sooner
they learn to demonstrate good self-control, the better and more
enjoyable their life will become.
GOOD HABITS
“Good habits are hard to make but easy to live with. Bad habits are
easy to make but hard to live with.” As you know, it takes a
conscious deliberate effort to develop sound habits. It is hard to
develop self-discipline. It is hard to develop the focus to not get
sidetracked. It takes courage to accept responsibility for your
actions. It takes effort to learn to be non-judgmental. But if we
can help to develop these habits in our children, their life will be
a whole lot easier, more fun, and more rewarding.
THE PRACTICE CYCLE
We
teach the where, what & why of practice.
Where: in a quiet place with no
distractions.
What: Strengths first weaknesses
second, because it is much more motivating.
Why: To better ourselves mentally
and our skills physically.
SUCCESS CYCLE
We
all know that the clearer your vision for what it is you want to
achieve the more likely you will achieve it. However it doesn’t stop
there. Using a success formula almost guarantees success.
1. Know what you want
2. Have a plan
3. Get a success coach
4. Review your progress and renew
your goals
